Stepwise framework for responsible use

Terms and conditions of use

Challenging the notion that participation in startup crowdfunding is a risk-free or informal affair, these terms establish a deliberate, stepwise framework for engagement. Every obligation, right, and process is articulated so users—whether founders or investors—can operate with full awareness of their responsibilities and the platform’s oversight under Canadian law.

Account eligibility and security

To create an account, users must be at least 18 years old and provide accurate, complete registration details. Account holders are responsible for safeguarding their credentials and maintaining up-to-date contact information. Each participant may only maintain one account unless otherwise authorised.

Acceptable use of the platform

Users may submit projects, support campaigns, or participate as investors in accordance with platform procedures. Activities must comply with all applicable laws and not infringe on the rights of others. Any attempt to misrepresent identity or manipulate campaign results will result in immediate suspension.

All content uploaded or submitted—including text, images, and project details—must be original or properly licensed. The platform reserves the right to remove or restrict material that is misleading, unlawful, or in violation of intellectual property rights.

Platform fees and payments

Fees for platform services, campaign submission, or transaction processing are clearly stated at the time of engagement. Users are responsible for reviewing all fee disclosures before proceeding. All charges are denominated in the currency specified and are non-refundable unless otherwise required by law.

Jurisdiction and dispute resolution

The platform is governed by the laws of Canada. Any disputes or legal proceedings arising from use of the platform are subject to Canadian jurisdiction. Users agree to resolve conflicts through the designated dispute resolution process outlined herein before seeking outside remedies.

Modifications and updates

The platform may update these terms to reflect changes in law, technology, or service offerings. Notice of substantial modifications will be provided to users. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Canadian law, the platform disclaims liability for any indirect or consequential losses arising from use, technical issues, or campaign outcomes. Participation is at the user’s own risk, and no assurances of success are provided.

Severability and waiver

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, all remaining provisions shall remain in full force. Failure to enforce a right or provision does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision by the platform.
